I totally agree, it's not weird at all, but a few examples to answer your question:

I am unaffected either way. But to me, if people want to spend £70+ on a game and grind bot lobbies, power to them. If that's how they want to spend time with the game, go for it. Taking that away from folk seems pointless.
I just find setting it up and putting it on the barrier to entry, it's a lot easier to just pick up a controller and get stuck in.
In terms of games, there are plenty of really good PC ported VR games on the system.

Other than both having military settings, I have always felt BF and COD play distinctly different scratching different itches, vehicles, large scale combat vs killstreaks and arena style gameplay.
Personally I have always preferred BF out of the two and this Beta is looking like the BF I have wanted since BF4. Hopefully they don't drop the ball on release, looking forward to this weeks open beta to see if they make any adjustments or improvements.
They could add a re-sell marketplace and skim off the top like ebay does. Both publisher + dev

I think it coming to xbox is great. The more people playing HD2 the better, managed democracy doesn't come easy and I want as many citizens as possible to help in this plight.
Also as for Playstation, I agree somewhat that they over focus on the big budget expensive production games. They have some IP's that could make top tier AA quality games (WipeOut, Twisted Metal foe example) which I would like to see.
I would argue most of these companies are in competition with their own greed. It won't be a rival system that topples them, it'll be hubris.

Agreed. I played consistently through the first 3 years then dropped off for other games. Decided to come back in a few years later and as you say, was a little overwhelmed with all the operators I couldn't find the bug again.

I agree, what was fresh 10-15 years ago in terms of gameplay loop has become stale as it bled out across all genres. To me, the RPG elements needed greater focus, the ability to shape the environment through my actions feels absent making it more of a checklist linear game in an open world environment. Not just this game is guilty of this, many are and they're just blending into one at this point.

Agreed monkey602. I find I play the odd one or two games that I stick with throughout the year. I switched to just buying them.
It'd be shame if this game ends up fun, as the fact they have blatantly emulated Horizon visually will totally impact the chance it has of being noticed
I hope that isn't the focus. I would rather a smooth gameplay experience + using the extra grunt for world building, better AI logic etc.
